Thinking on Thursday

I'm sitting in my corner and I am trying to solve a konun-, conendrum, um, problem. How do I get my daddy out of bed? Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he is home, but when it was just mommy and me, I had lots more room. Lets see:

1. Have Bendrix poot in his face every hour

2. Put a cat hair right in his eye (daddy is allergik so my hairs in his eyes are very annoying)

3. Stick my nose up his nose like Max does...right after he falls asleep.

4. Sit on his head.

5. Sit on his chest with my nose in his face.

6. Walk across his "Mr. Winky" a couple of times. That'll get him sitting up.

7. Keep pouncing on the "bed mice" on his side. I do that anyway but now I'll step up my efforts.

8. Chew what is left of his hair. It bugged mommy that time!

9. When he is on his side play "King of the Bed" by walking up and down his side.

10. Repeatedly drop spitty wet soft bitey mice in his face.

11. Whap his alarm clock cord until it falls off the stand.

12. Meow loudly in his ear and then when he wakes up, pat his face with my paw.

13. Lay next to his head and "stretch" until I push it off the pillow.

The Akers Family gets to "Move That Bus" tomorrow! Cool!!! They are expecting between 7,000 and 10,000 people. Mommy has to work but is DVRing the news.

PS To all of you that suggested it, yes, I think Bendrix is getting a little full of himself. See, his is on the counter by the stove where we are NOT allowed. He tried to hide, but mommy still saw him.

Those would all be very interesting ways to get your dad out of bed, Hendrix! Of course, we like having our dad in bed - he is wonderful to cuddle and snuggle next to.

Sneeze in his face. A lot. That always wakes my dad up!

Well, you could try them all. They would certainly get our mommy out of bed....quickly!

It's beginning to look unanymous - don't choose, do them ALL!

We'll try to remind Mom to watch them move the bus.

Haaa haaa haaa Hendrix! I like the #6 option, that would surely do the trick!
Thanks for helping me celebrate my birthday Tuesday, it was SO much fun!

I agree! Do them all, again and again. Keep notes and let us know what works best.

We wake our humans by having Georgia walk on them.. We could send her to you. You see she can't walk smoothly on legs and bumpy areas so she falls on them as she calmly tries to wander up closer for an ear rub.

lay on his face!!!!! all night!!!! also, get your paws wet and then touch his face. that will really freak him out

I find that sitting on the pillow and then whapping the alarm clock works best. Ivy prefers to attack the feet with her claws of fury, while Holly enjoys patting the face.

Have you efur tried hacking up a furball on the bed? My Meowmy says that is one noise she definately can not ignore when she is in bed.

Well yeah I mean they're only useful to a point. Then they're useless. I think a barrage might work best.

I agree, do ALL of them! Hahahaha! That will be a laugh riot!

Beagles vote for sneezing over and over. Jumping on the stomach is good too. Or experiment one by one or by combos and see what is the ultimate wake-up technique. Then let us know, please!

Mr. Hendrix, those sound like wonderful things to try to do.

Or maybe you should try to kick your mommy out so you can have some more one on one time with your daddy.

I think a combination of any or all of those things will work ;-) The only thing I can suggest is to claim your rightful spot on the bed before Daddy tries to lay down.

Poor you, it's so bad for a cat to not have enough room to stretch fully for a good nap!

Oh you are so much like Cody! :) I'm starting to think all House Panthers have a naughty gene! Good thing you are all so cute. :)
Thank you for the well wishes for Toeshee. "werms" as Daisy calls them, are just beyond gross!
I will bookmark your blog! :)
Have a fun day! (and night) ;)

Those are all excellent strategies. I think you ought to try a few of them every night, but rotate them so he never knows what to expect. That is very exciting news about your neighbors getting an Extreme Home Makeover!

Awww, we think you should share the bed with your dad.

I think you should find a way to share the bed with both your Mommy and Daddy. You can try all of these methods when it is time to get him up in the morning.

You have lots of good ideas for getting the dad out of the bed. We came up with the idea that maybe if you pretended to cough up a hair ball that would for sure get him up and he probably wouldn't want to get back into the bed.

We are ready and heading out on the safari on the 18th. Too excited!!!!!! I know a lot of adventures are awaiting us.

You have given this a lot of thought. I'd go with sit on his head.

Depends. How hard is he to wake up? You might need to use them all at one time.
