Hi all! We're baaaaaaaaaaaaack. Thanks everyone for coming over and trashin the house on Sunday. My mommy was still taking Tylenol for a headache while on the ladder scrubbing paw prints off the ceiling.
We were tagged for the fridge Meme, but she has to get all the magnets that were whapped off put back on. snigger. She has no idea what happened and grandma ain't talkin. woo hoo!!!
On to the "tattling" part. Mommy is soooo not a pro at this blogger. She had a great post for me all set up for Independence Day and somehow screwed it up when she changed the post options or something. So, in honor of our nation's birthday...belated, as Derby put it (he saw it before mommy screwed it up) here is "Hendrix on Hendrix"
The Star Spangled Banner Lyrics
By Francis Scott Key 1814
Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more!
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
Happy Birthday America!! I can celebrate Independence every day!!

Happy belated Independednce Day to you, too!
Stop by today, Mr Hendrix - you can help us write our newest Story! It's about a cat called Bobby Bobtail and his red-headed boy named...
So many blogs to catch up on. Hope you had a good weekend.

Glad you survived the trashing pawty! My mom says in her whole life she's never read the OTHER 3 verses of the SSB. We had a foster doggie once--a chocolate lab my mom named Jimi after Jimi Hendrix.

Very cool, Hendrix!
Welcome back! :) Jimmy Hendrix was a great guitarist. :)
If your mom finds a good way to get paws prints off the ceiling, please ask her to share her secret!
Mr Hendrix
Don't feel bad our Momma is very teckneelly challenged too.

Ooh, I like the Hendrix on Hendrix thing! Very clever.
I forgot to answer the question you left on my blog! Nope, daddy is not a Civil War reinactor. It is very cool that your mommy is, though. What role does she play?
Mommy's friend Katie (she's a v.e.t.) has a dad who's a civil war reinactor... she said that he showed up at her clinic one day in full regalia and started speaking to her in an exaggerated language style of that time while she was trying to give an exam to a dog. And then he broke a collarbone from one of the rifles (using blanks) and ohhhh the drama. She got a million messages on her answering machine where he pretended that he'd been shot and probably wouldn't make it.
We are glad your Mommy is back home. We hope we didn't mess the place up too much.
Tiki, Tavi, Cody and Camie
GASP! Hendrix/Bendrix, I can't believe that Hellie and I missed your house trashing partay! Crappity, crap, crap, crap!
My Mum hasn't gone anywhere in ages - I will try to convince her to get out of the house one weekend and we can re-create the trashing at my house.
P.S.
That is very cool grandbeans you have - turning the other eye.
That's a wonderful Independence Day post - no matter when it is!
Hope you Mommy doesn't check behind the couch. Since we were so late to the party we thought we should bring a gift, so there might be a couple of dead mousies back there!
That was a great post for Independence Day! Great to have you all back! :-)
Sorry we made such a mess at your house. I didn't realize I tracked in a little bit of dirts on my paws!
Nice post. Glad your mommy is home and seemingly none the wiser about the par-tay that went on, he he.
Jan isn't tech savvy either. Maybe the two of them together could manage a complete post?
Better late than never. Nice independence day post.
Welcome back! Happy belated Independence Day.
I must have tuned in at just the right time to see it before.
And it's very nearly Woodstock-o-versary too! So your post is timely, even if it didn't appear on the 4th. Rock on, Hendrixes!
Oh shucks! We missed the thrashing partay!
Sorry we have not been coming by, Mr. Hendrix. Mommie had been busy looking for a place to rent this past week + days, only now she can help us visit our frens.
Purrs and hugs,
Ha Ha! Poor mommy!! The PM isn't great at this tech stuff either! Better late than never, right?
Purrs, Goldie and Shade
Very cool! Better late than never ;-)
Sorry we missed your party. Looks like a lot of fun. We were away for the Independence Day weekend.
