I love my mommy for many reasons. I can list:
The way she makes sure I have fresh food and water and stinky goodness twice a day no matter how busy she is.
The way she always buys the freshest catnip plants and plants them for me to enjoy eating from pots.
The way she always has time to give me pets and scritches even when the blurpy boy needs attention.
The way she says she is proud of my spirit and bravery when I duke it out with the much bigger than me VET techs who outnumber me (even tho she feels guilty about the blood I draw...)
The way she always finds time to play with me and take tons of pictures with me.
The way she lets me get close to the stinky blurpy boy on my terms and doesn't push us together. (in these pictures, I jumped up on the bed when mommy and stinky Joel were already there and demanded pets.) AND the way she keeps me safe from his out of control bungling movements and excitement. After all "Tails are NOT for pulling"
The way she lets me lay on her legs and tummy even when her back aches and she'd rather roll over. Then after she breaks down and rolls over, she makes sure I get all snuggled in next to her and rubs my cheeks till I fall asleep.
The way she joined a book club so she'd have an excuse to sit for hours with me!
The way she tells Joel how lucky they are to have a smart, handsome, good kitty like me and she hopes we'll be best buds someday.
The way she makes sure that even when I get up where I am NOT allowed, nothing will hurt me if I do. AND the way she got all the stuff that would hurt Joel up so he is safe too. After all, he has 2 more hands for petting and feeding. I'd hate to lose their potential.
Like most mommies, mine puts herself last so we can all be taken care of and be happy and safe. Anne M Jarvis may have believed that the tribute day she founded in "Mother's Day" became to commercialized, but, if you will allow me one moment of complete cheezyness, I don't think there is anything we can give our mommies one day a year to make up for all they give us the other 364 days.
Thanks to my mom, my grandmas and all the moms in the world who love us!
