Thinking on Thursday

I'm thinking I am one good looking House Panther.

Pause for fur grooming

Remember when Joel has his professional pictures taken by my Aunt? And she took some pictures of me? I'm thinking they turned out awesome.

What do you think??

Sneaky on Saturday

Come here birdie birdie birdie

It's just an innocent bag.

Nothing dangerous here....well, maybe just a little

If only one of those birdies would find their way into the house.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there both of beans and furries.

I love my mommy for many reasons. I can list:

The way she makes sure I have fresh food and water and stinky goodness twice a day no matter how busy she is.

The way she always buys the freshest catnip plants and plants them for me to enjoy eating from pots.

The way she always has time to give me pets and scritches even when the blurpy boy needs attention.

The way she says she is proud of my spirit and bravery when I duke it out with the much bigger than me VET techs who outnumber me (even tho she feels guilty about the blood I draw...)

The way she always finds time to play with me and take tons of pictures with me.

The way she lets me get close to the stinky blurpy boy on my terms and doesn't push us together. (in these pictures, I jumped up on the bed when mommy and stinky Joel were already there and demanded pets.) AND the way she keeps me safe from his out of control bungling movements and excitement. After all "Tails are NOT for pulling"

The way she lets me lay on her legs and tummy even when her back aches and she'd rather roll over. Then after she breaks down and rolls over, she makes sure I get all snuggled in next to her and rubs my cheeks till I fall asleep.

The way she joined a book club so she'd have an excuse to sit for hours with me!

The way she tells Joel how lucky they are to have a smart, handsome, good kitty like me and she hopes we'll be best buds someday.

The way she makes sure that even when I get up where I am NOT allowed, nothing will hurt me if I do. AND the way she got all the stuff that would hurt Joel up so he is safe too. After all, he has 2 more hands for petting and feeding. I'd hate to lose their potential.

Like most mommies, mine puts herself last so we can all be taken care of and be happy and safe. Anne M Jarvis may have believed that the tribute day she founded in "Mother's Day" became to commercialized, but, if you will allow me one moment of complete cheezyness, I don't think there is anything we can give our mommies one day a year to make up for all they give us the other 364 days.

Thanks to my mom, my grandmas and all the moms in the world who love us!

PURRS 4 HERMAN Post

We're late but we're going to leave this post up for Monday so it gets lotsa good purrs going.

We are purring and purring for Herman and mommy Karen Jo. Herman has FIV like me, but unfortunately Herman also has FLV. He had a rough time until his mommy Karen Jo adopted him and gave him a forever home.

With her love, he discovered snuggles, special treats & toys and play time. We have always loved Karen Jo for the thoughtful limmericks she has done for so many of us. Since she adopted Herman, we love her even more.

Adopting a special needs kitty, especially for your first, is a difficult and loving decision. It is hard to give your heart to a furry kid knowing you might not have them long, but Karen Jo was so unselfish she did just that. She took in Herman and is giving him the best forever home she can.

Now Herman is not doing well and he and Karen Jo need some comforting purrs. We are sending them to him and Karen Jo by the bucketful.

Herman was kind enough to pass along this Beautiful Blogger Award to me and I am honored to receive it. I would like to pass this on to anyone who leaves a special comment for Herman AND one other kitty/bean on the purrs and prayers list.

I'm supposed to tell everyone 7 new things about me. Most of you know me pretty well by now, so I think I'll borrow Herman's idea and tell you 6 things I've done in the past week and 1 new thing about me.

1. I did not scratch or bite Joel when his fat little hand got away from mommy's grip and hit me in the neck. Yes kitties, I got a biiiiiiiiiig plate of stinky and lots of "good Hendrix, you are the best kitty in the world" because of that.

2. Jumped up on the dining room table with its new, and slippery-er table cloth and did some accidental base jumping off the side.

3. Puked up a nasty wet hairball with a big crusty hairknot center just as mommy was finally packed up and walking out the door to Joel's sitter to go to work. Timing is everything.

4. Did not warn mommy about the totally giant bug (seriously, I think I saw fangs) that was on the ceiling above her head while she put her make up on and then stretched out on the bed and enjoyed the show when she saw it. I don't think a Swiff*er duster is supposed to be swung around like that but hey, it did the job. She left the carcuss for daddy to clean up when he got home.

5. Actually "marked" that stinky boy as mine. I rubbed all over him with my head (mommy had him contained - the situation in #1 was a sneak attack by the stinker). Now he belongs to me and must do what I say when I say it.

6. Enjoyed a whole day with mommy in bed with NO baby around. Stinky boy went to the sitter's. Mommy got her back shots Friday, so doctor's orders, bed rest. I got to enjoy open windows, quiet time, Psych on DVD and lots and lots of scritches. Then sitnky boy came home and mommy still stayed in bed with me!!

7. I've discovered more white furs. I blame Joel #2 aka stinky boy aka blurpy boy aka "that thing" (as in "get that thing away from me") aka Munchasaurus Rex aka the shrieker (perhaps that should mean is nickname is "Cel*ine Dion"?). Kids turn their parent's furs grey, I can see now it affects older siblings too. I guess it is time for N#ce and Easy. That is my style.

Monday Monday

Here's some stuff that happened since the last time I posted.

I puked on the bed overnight and then I shredded the paper towel roll mommy left on the floor after cleaning up the mess (and putting the bedspread in the laundry). Hey, why make one mess when I can make two?!?

I had to go to the VET to have a dew claw that was majorly thick and long and curled trimmed. Luckily my others were sharp and able to shread skin.

Earth Day came and went. Mommy worked at the store that day so it was very naturey. We do lots to save the environment so we were bummed we didn't get a special post up that day. Mommy thinks we'll do a Thursday 13 this week. After all, shouldn't we always celebrate the Earth?

Baby Joel said "itteeeeey" for the first time. Now when he sees me he takes a deep breath and in a weird whispery voice (not kidding about that - he really makes an effort) he says "itteeeey." No "K" yet, but still, it is cool. I'm the only one he looks at everytime when he says the word.

Mommy's secret project seems to be taking a good turn. Two possibilities that may work out in May.

Joel's "military crawl" is turning into an actual crawl which will make it much harder for me to taunt him. Currently I sit on the edge of his big blanket and when he scoots close I move back a few feet. He gets so disappointed. But, no more of that soon!

I discovered a major discrepency in the cabinets that will require some sort of retaliation.

Joel's food cabinet...

My food cabinet...See anything missing? Like the other 20 cans that should be there???

I got my picture taken! My Aunt came over to take Joel's 9 month photos and our family picture and she took some of me. I hope they turn out well. I am very dark and it is hard to get really good ones.

Stuff on Saturday

Wow, it has been way to long since we've posted or visited around. Bendrix and I are NOT happy about this, but no matter how many times he gets up on the table, counters, sits on mommy's face at night or scratches the sofas/doorjams etc., mommy has still not stepped up.

There have been lotsa projects around the house (painting, hemming curtains, shampooing carpets *shudder*) and big projects at her work to do. Daddy has been working lotsa long hours and of course that little blurpy chubmeister Joel has to be catered to. sigh. He is even more demanding than I am!

Mommy could use some nice purrs and stuff cause she has made a big decision (can't really talk about it now) and needs some luck thrown her way. That is taking lotsa time too.

Although my blogging has not kept up to its usually high standards, my beans feel so guilty about being so busy that Bendrix and I are getting lotsa extra treats. I'm concerned about bathing suit season being right around the corner, but who can turn down extra treats? Not me friends.

So, we hope you'll bear with us, we'll post everytime we can and visit as much as possible. Things should settle down in the next 4-6 weeks (then the garden and my fresh nip plants will be in!)

We miss you and think of you all the time. It makes mommy sad she has been dropping the ball on blogging. purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrs to you all!

Here are some pictures from one of the photo sessions mommy did of me. She tried to be all artsyfartsy with her camera lighting and stuff.

(Bendrix shows up best with a low flash exposure...)

Thinking on Thursday

I'm thinking it is worth getting in trouble to lick the chicken & applesauce baby food off Joel's bib. Oh man, that is some good stuff.

Still working on ideas for a "McNickname". Mommy says, McSquishyface but NO WAY! I like Max's idea of "Mr. H" cause it sounds important and mysterious. Like I should be the voice on the phone / computer that orders spies around. Maybe I've been watching to much Alias on DVD?

Happy Fricken Easter

sigh. Happy Fricken Easter. I hope the Easter bunny didn't stop by the dollar bin at Target before coming to your house like my mommy did. sigh.

I am so humiliated.

These eggs being filled with Temptations and catnip is helping me tho...

Thinking on Thursday

Just hanging out wondering.

Just what would I do for a Klondike bar?

Happy April Fools Day! hmmmmmmmmm I wonder what I can do to fool my beans....any thoughts?
