Friday Update

Wow! We can't believe it has been a whole week since Joel was born. He has been home for 4 1/2 days and things are going great with me and him. He isn't a bad little guy...but "#2" has certainly taken on a whole new, and disgusting meaning. gag.

I won't make that mistake again...

I mean, yeah, he is cute, but how bright can he be? Check out what all Little Bit's kittens are doing and Joel can't even figure out a litter box. Well, he is a product of my human beans so it is to be expected I suppose.

Bendrix sayz "Yeah, the flash is annoying but, hey man, at least she hasn't dressed you up in some type of costume yet"

Bendrix has been chatting with Joel about how to get out of wearing costumes (Joel doesn't like caps either) and making diaper changing time difficult. Man that kid can pee the distance. Good thing mommy was wearing her glasses! ha ha ha. You can actually hear him fill a poopy diaper from across the room. Nice. Nice.

The changing pad is sooooo comfy. It fits my contours perfectly. No worries gang, it is clean when I lay on it!

Can you believe he actually fit INSIDE the mommy?

Mommy and daddy say they couldn't ask for a better response from me. They are making sure I get my special mommy and then daddy time. My box is being changed and I'm even getting extra treats for good behavior.

I'm not big on sharing, but this sunbeam was big enough for both of us AND I didn't have to share my snuggle.

Thanks all for the awesome welcome to my little brother. Mommy is going to print them on special paper and put them in his scrapbook.

Mommy's incision is kinda hurty (no more than expected) so it is hard to blog right now, but we'll hopefully be getting around to visit my friends next week. Take care all and we'll be seeing you soon! Til then, we hope you've enjoyed these pics of me and Joel bonding.

What great photos, Hendrix! It looks like you're taking good care of your tiny bro. I think you have to give him a bit of time with the litter box situation, though. Maybe you two could have peeing contests! Oh--my mom says maybe not.

I am so glad you are doing so well together! What a great thing. I am sure that Bendrix will teach him all sorts of great tricks to play on the big humans! That's one of the great things about kids--get um young and train up right!

You are a model big brother, Hendrix. Our mum took notes (seriously, actual notes, the nerd) on how your mum and dad helped you prepare for Joel's arrival, for future use. It's lovely to see how well you are all settling in together:)

They don't manage that that well.

Dude, you're doing so well! I think I'll live in my hiding spot under the bed when my blurp comes at Christmas.
P.S. Don't forget to give your mum lots of gentle snuggles!

Now that you've bonded, you can spend some quality time teaching him who is boss. Do it now while he's young and impressionable.

Those are some really great pictures of you and the blurpy. You're very sweet to be such a good watchcat for him and to share the sunbeam. Too bad you have to put up with the stink too. ;) Just have patience!

Dood...just an FYI...if they ask you to babysit, it's not as fun as it sounds. You don't get to actually sit on the baby.

Yeah, I know. What's the point otherwise???

That peeing thing, though, that's an awesome trick. I wish I could pee far enough to squirt a person in the glasses. Heh.

Thanks for the update! Your mom should rest as much as she can!

Hendrix, I can see you have a lot of things to teach bebbeh Joel. Like how to use the litter box!

I don't think she's doing it right.

Joel is adorable. Your parents are lucky that you are taking such good care of your new baby brother.
And your mommy looks radiant.

edda said...

yes... #2 for babies is really icky.

mommy says to remind your mommy that she can't do stairs, driving, or pilates for a couple weeks. (emphasis on the pilates -- that ban can go on indefinitely.) your daddy should be waiting on her hand and paw.

AWWWWWW, what a handsome young feller! Do remember to cover when changing the diaper, tho'! ALWAYS COVER!!!!! Oh, and keep your mouth closed!

These are the most wonderful photos ever. I am so happy to know that all of you are having a good time learning about this new life. Many happy days are ahead.
Hendrix, you are such a good big brother <3

I hope the incision improves soon... it does take time, keep moving... and resting. Mom says, the other incision is worse (she has had both kinds of deliveries and would take a c-sect any day)

Loads of purrrs to all of you
