Midnight Monday - Football Edition

Well, we came prepared for a good game. Unfortunately the Bengals didn't bring their A game...or their B game...

I mean, Bendrix is all for fouling and penalties, but the point is to not get caught! Since Daddy went to Purdue when Drew Brees was there and is a big fan, that helped take some of the disappointment away.

Just so you don't think Joel doesn't have a bed time, this picture was taken at 6pm, way before the game, because his typical routine is bed by 7:00pm (then cry & eat at 9pm, "tank up" at 10pm, cry & eat at 1am, 3:30am...), but Friday night he made sure he stayed up until 10:30pm with all that gassy crying and fussing! He was not impressed with the Bengals' performance either.

Personally, I think my sleek House Panther bandanna look is much better than his outfit. What do you think?

Midnight Monday with Bendrix

It isn't the rise of Cobra beans have to worry about, it is the rise of Bendrix. Much like a sleek panther lies in wait for the perfect moment to pounce on prey, the House Panther's evil alter ego lies in wait for the perfect moment to escape...

After 4 weeks of new baby smells, new routines, tons of visitors in and out, 2 weeks of screaming gassy baby noise (he is now taking gripe water and another OTC medicine to help) 24/7, tired cranky mommy and daddy...Bendrix had had enough. Both of us did. We got sicky and started barfing Thursday.

So, daddy took us to the VET yesterday morning. When mommy asked how we did, daddy said "Well, he took out 4 weeks of frustration on the almost the entire VET staff." You read right. It took 2 towels, daddy, the VET, and 3 VET techs to get me and Bendrix one shot.

Bendrix would NOT allow us to get our temperature taken. No way. I've taken it up the proverbial po*per for 4 weeks we weren't going to take it yesterday. Then they wanted to give us 2 shots for my tummy, but Bendrix only "allowed" one.

There was hissing, growling, snarling, clawing, biting. There was blood drawn (not on daddy which is good). Daddy and mommy are always torn between being embarrassed, and being proud of our toughness.

We do have to take some tiny pills that are so small they can go in our stinky foods. Cross your paws that things settle down for both my tummy and Joel's!!

Now for the fun stuff! As soon as we get a new firewire cord I'll upload the video, but until then, here are some pictures of me and my fling-ama-string toy.

All you mommies expecting blurpy things NEED to get one. Mommy calls it a life saver cause she can flip it on while otherwise occupied (read: paying attention to #2 instead of me) and I get to play like crazy.

Go to Baby Patches' store and order one NOW!!

PS mommy and daddy really want to see the GI Joe movie! they are going to leave #2 with a grandma and grandpa as soon as he feels better and go get "campy!" has anyone seen it yet?

Midnight Monday

What an icky day. It even snowed this morning!

Today is a big day in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is Reds Opening Day! There is a parade, lotsa good foods and of course the kick off of baseball season.

I wish the game was at night so I could watch with daddy, but both my beans had to work today so I'll be watching alone. Anyone want to come keep me company and watch some baseball?? We can root root root for my home team!

This was how I spent most of the weekend. It was sunny so the windows got to be open sometimes. There was a chilly wind that would kick up, but the sunbeams were warm.

PS Mommy and daddy called the childbirth class "brutal" and "pretty useless" and "way to long." That is what they get for abandoning me on a sunny Saturday.

Midnight Monday and Mason

I'm beefing up my usual Midnight Monday post to show a little Mancat on the side. Sometimes it is good to show a little affection to the mommy. Especially when she doesn't feel good. Actually, I thought the lingering smell of turkey sandwich on her breath was nice, but don't tell her that. She thought I was being sweet.

Also, my woofie cousin Mason could use some purrs. He has a lump on his lip that needs to be biopsied. My uncle Kevin and family just rescued him Sept. 2008. It was just over a year ago that Sonny, their first rescued woofie went to the Bridge of cancer a 4 years old so this is very hard for them.

Can't Trust That Day

So after abandoning me most of Friday and all of Saturday, once again mommy abandoned me. This time to her hunting and gathering work place. Stoopid Monday. You just can't trust that day.

Mommy was worried about how I would do without my village. Well, I do miss my minions, but most of my nap time is still spent in my window soaking up the sun into my beautiful House Panther furs. Here I am yesterday in my hidey hole chillaxin.

My swappin buddy Miz Allie Cat is not feeling well. She also turned 18 on Friday Feb 20th! Please stop by and give her some purrrrrrs and birthday wishes!!

We are keeping all our sick friends like Fiona Bun and Sweet Praline in our purrs and prayers.

PS Tomorrow is the big reveal! Boy or Girl? We'll let you know. The appnt is not until noon so as soon as we know you'll know!

Midnight Mancat Monday

Ah, today there are sunbeams! Whoo hoo! What is nice about being a House Panther is that our dark furs soak up that sun sooooo well. Mommy sayz I'm like buttah after a nap in the sunbeams.

This is a picture from over the weekend. Mommy opened the window for a little while so I could smell the birdies she was counting. This is the last day for the Great Backyard Bird Count. It only takes 15 minutes to help save our feathered friends.

Midnight Monday

When a sleek House Panther looks for a den, he wants to make sure he has certain aminities. Dark, private, close to a food source and being safe and warm. As to why I enjoy being UNDER by village as much as I enjoy being ON my village, there is a heating vent under here. It is nice. Like the tropical jungle where panther's prowl.

Hey woman, put that sheet down, you're letting the heat out!

PS All the cords were sprayed with "Bitter Apple" so no worries about my chewing then. That stuff is nasty.

Midnight Monday - Main Street

Mommy calls this "Down on Main Street."

Since there is no way to keep a House Panther off of something he wants to nap on, mommy designs our St. Nicholas Square Village with a nice wide Main Street for me to walk or nap on. She also leaves a "snowy" area by the window for birdwatching and napping.

I am very glad I am allowed on my Village. I'd get yelled at a lot if I wasn't! ha ha ha

Also, mommy filled out the first round of Christmas cards this weekend! She sent the first 50 out today :)

Sneaky Sunday and Midnight Monday

Mommy keeps her weights and stuff in a bin that I sit on by the window. Now it is under my village so when I move the cloth just a bit. I become one sneaky House Panther.

Mommy is going to be crazy busy at work getting ready to abandon me for so long. We promise to visit as much as we can before I won't have a typist.

Don't forget...a House Trashin at my house all week, and we'll double our efforts on Tuesday, Nov. 3 for my birthday!!!

Be sure to see my rockin' entry at Skeezy's Halloween Costume Contest! It took a lot of effort for everyone, and a cool gold chain, to pull it off.

Midnight Monday

Well, mommy survived her birthday weekend. She did not recover well from "girls night out" as fast as she used to. I enjoyed the time she was on the couch, which turned out to be most of the day! ha ha ha

A smart House Panther knows when NOT to follow their beans to the bathroom. ha ha ha

Here is a picture of us before she and daddy went out for her actual birthday Sat. night. I was very glad she brushed her teeths. ha ha ha

Be sure to see my entry in the Frisky Fall Contest held by Billy Sweetfeets, and Sammy and Miles
The deadline has been extended so get your entries in and help raise money for needy kitties!!

Midnight Monday

So, Saturday I was abandoned again. My beans went to a local farm to run the Corn Maze, feed the farm animals and get pumpkins from the pumpkin patch. Mommy said they don't let kitties go there. I was NOT happy because, once again, I was not included.

BUT, then it happened...they brought me home my own pumpkin! I've never had my own pumpkin before. I will love it and pet it and kiss it and squeeze it and I will call it George. So, they are forgiven...for now.

I posted this one especially for Miles.

Tune in tomorrow for Bendrix's Tattle Tail "Wasn't Me" Tuesday Extravaganza....there aren't many pictures...but you'll get the point

BTW, for those who saw Extreme Makeover Home Edition last night, that was our local family! The Elementary School (Hopewell) they showed is the one my daddy went to. We drive by it all the time. Also, the huge American Flag hanging on the building was not just for the show. They have hung a giant flag there since soon after the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, and each year, put up white crosses to honor those who died.

Midnight Monday

This was a very crazy weekend at my house. On Saturday my beans were gone ALL day. They went to see beans in costume that do funny plays and sing songs and get all dressed up. They saw this bean there.

He reminded mommy of Ayla's climbing skills. I don't think he climbs as well as Ayla tho.

Then they rushed home, cleaned up and went to a "Function" for daddy's work. They were out late!

Then on Sunday when it should have been all about ME and going to Jack's party. All my stuff got moved around. My sofa, my window box, my scratching post.

That is right kitties. Mommy shampooed all the carpets and couches! That meant I was forced to stay in the Mancave (which usually is fun) but the Bengals were on and, well, it was not where I wanted to be.

Just as Bendrix was about to show his extreme displeasure in the events that were unfolding, it happened...

Can anyone guess what turned my House Panther mood around? Here is a hint!

PS Why did the chicken cross the road?

Because the Bengals Defensive Line couldn't stop it.

UPDATE: I almost forgot! One of the greatest shows ever starts its second season tonight. Life on NBC. Clever, interesting, funny and sharp. It starts at 10pm right after Heroes. Anyone who loves Nelson DeMille books will love this detective. He has a lot in common with John Corey. Watch all the first season episodes on nbc.com/life

Midnight Monday

Well, my Sunday pretty much stank. Since I kept puking up my foods, I had to go to the VET first thing in the morning.

My beans took my foods away from 10:00am - 7:00pm on Saturday cause of my puking (at the VET's evil suggestion). Then mommy gave me a couple pieces at 7. I puked them up. She waited until 9:30 and gave me a couple more. I puked them up. So, no more food for me! Other than the puking I've been fine.

So, off to the VET I went. I got "sedated" not just "gassed" so I could have bloodwork done and an XRay. No issues (my bladder was a little distended) showed up on either. That is good news.

I had to get fluids, they "expressed" my bladder and gave me shots. It royally stank (I cleaned up my language for the lady cats and kittens who visit me), but the worst part is the VET said no food until 8:00PM!! I was staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarving already.

Adding insult to injury, they trimmed my beautiful claws while I was sleeping. My beautiful claws that did this to my mommy's arm while she shoved my in my PTU.

So, I get home, staggering like a drunken sailor and all glassy eyed. My daddy said "for $350 dollars, you'd better enjoy that high buddy." I did. I really did. Bendrix was leaping thru the meadow with the pink hippos in tutus and I saw a giant rat wearing a cape that is "the head of an evil corporation." It was great.

Here is a picture of me once I got my legs under me and climbed into my command center. Like most House Panthers, I feel safer up high.

Luckily my mommy felt bad enough for me to not take any video or pictures of me that were embarrassing.

The icing on the cake was that although the Bengals put up a valient effort, they still lost. sigh

Midnight Monday

A House Panther has much stalking and to do, even if it is thru a window. We must keep watch for intruders. I will not be deterred from my survellence. Well, maybe for stinky goodness...

Right now I'm keeping watch for Emil. Come home!

Midnight Monday

It is the second day of June and the warm, sunny weather is here to stay! Mommy and daddy turned the cool air thingy on so my windows are closed. That made me sad until they told be it would be in the high 80's and up to 90 degrees this week. I like warm sunbeams, but that kinda heat might make me sweat!
I'd hate my pretty black furs to get blond streaks from the sun.

My sweet lady cat sent me a fun red dot toy as a pressie for Valentine's Day. I play with it all the time! It keeps my House Panther reflexes in shape. I chase it, it goes back the other way and I need to do a quick 180 to catch it. I haven't yet...but I'm still trying.

Please keep all our friends and their families who need extra purrs in your thoughts and prayers.

Midnight Monday

What happens when 2 crazy House Panthers go out on the town? These are the only 2 photos that survived our trip to the Hofbrau House!

Bendrix sayz "No way we're comin down coppers! We're cats, we like heights! You come up here" We almost got arrested, but they lured us down with catnip and let us party on...

Midnight Monday

I am blending in to my surroundings as good House Panthers are known to do. This allows us to reach out and snag a hand for biting, or a Cheese-It from a bowl. mmm Cheese-Its....I digress.

Blending in is easy for House Panthers to do especially at night. It is always amusing to watch beans running around the house looking for me "Hendrix, where are you? It is time for bed" "Come here sweetie, mommy wants to pet your pretty face" and then when they see the me, I'm always laying right there!

It is truly entertaining to come stretching out of my "hiding place" like "what's the deal? Why are you freaking out? I'm right here!" I love it.

PS Mommy FINALLY posted my M-Cat Club badge on the right side panel. Bendrix has yet to get a photo that suits him to send in. He is working on it. Remember, when he is out, the camera is usually exchanged for a squirt gun!

3/03/2008

Midnight Monday

One reason we House Panthers are so good at revenge, is we blend into the darkness of the bedroom as we enact revenge...

This is me on the upstairs "guest bed." See how I slink? If it was dark, you'd never see me coming....

As you may all remember, my so called mommy not only abandoned me for 2 nights last week (she cheated on me with ANOTHER CAT - my kitty cousin) to "cat sit". Jeez. Then, to top it all off, she posted a very unflattering, and unfunny (yeah, I hear you all "coughing") photo of me on Friday.
So, last night, with all my House Panther stealth, I had my revenge. What do you all think that revenge was?? I've never done anything like this before....I can't wait to hear what your ideas are...and what you say when you find out what I did.

PS My daddy now has a tummy flu. Please send purrs his way...he isn't the one who left me.

Midnight Monday Star Award

HRH Yao-lin awarded both me AND Bendrix the blogging star award. We are very happy to receive it, especially from royalty!

This one is for me.

This one is for Bendrix.

The award was created by a bean named Barb at Skittles' Place. This award is for bloggers who shine their light throughout the Blogosphere. Some do it with humor, others with creativity, and others with their kind and thoughtful natures. Barb says says this is what you do if you receive the award:

Proudly display it on your blog along with a link to who gave it to you.
Mention that it originated at Skittles' Place so I can follow its journey.

Pass it on to any blogger(s) you think should have it:
I pass this on to my Sweet Brandi who is a star to me and always has nice things to say.
I also pass this on to Jack who does a very good job keeping us informed on the Vishus Deer threat and keeps a very sad list of those who've gone to the Bridge.

Mooooooooooooooom, House Panthers do not like to be disturbed when they are getting their vitamin D. Jeez

6/25/2007

Midnight Monday

I survey my domain.

I devour my food.

I stalk my prey.

And savor my victory.

I demand respect.

I am a House Panther.

PS mommy and daddy have been working lots to make green papers for me to get more stinky goodness. we want you to know that just because we haven't been leaving comments, doesn't mean we aren't visiting. mommy can visit almost everyone, but the computer at one of her jobs makes it hard to leave comments (she doesn't want to get caught!) so please don't think we haven't been visiting or that we have not been leaving comments for any other reason than my typists are going bonkers working so much.
