Weeble Wednesday
Now these are Weebles:
This is me:
Weebles:
Me:
I don't see the resemblance. Of course Weebles are much like cats in the way that they "may wobble, but they don't fall down!"

Dreaming of a Snuggling Sunday on Midnight Monday
Anyway, mommy was laying on the sofa with me when I was teleporting and she couldn't help but notice how warm and happy I looked. Then a bright sunbeam came through the window and was shining right on me and she took a picture saying "he must be dreaming of Brandi!" She doesn't quite get the "teleporting" thing yet....but she was close!

Thursday Thirteen - My First!
Mommy has always wanted to put some emergency/evacuation kits and first aid kits together for us, but always put it off. This year hearing how poor GT hurt his leg and all the problems the midwest had with ice storms and loss of power, she kicked into gear. So, here are 13 things (there are more too!) that are in my very own first aid kit (next week will be my "emergency evacuation kit" so visit then too!)
1. A tiny flashlight to inspect my ears, eyes, paws etc. for injuries / splinters
2. A blunt tipped tweezers (so if I jerk my head or paw it won't jab me)
3. A GREAT IDEA for a stretcher that mommy got from my first aid book (see below) - A cutting board wrapped in a towel to transport me to the vet
4. Extra lint free white towels to put over me when I'm on the board & masking tape* (over the towel - not my fur) to keep me still
5. Plastic eyedropper or syringe
6. Gauze pads in case of injuries & gauze on a roll to wrap injuries
7. Sterile saline solution
8. Hydrogen peroxide (helps with making kitties vomit)
9. Neosporine for minor scratches and cuts
10. Strips of cotton to use as a muzzle to help them treat me and I can't bite
11. Cotton balls and swabs
12. Ice pack
13. Scissors
*The duct tape roll covering the masking tape roll is for something else - mommy forgot to take it out of MY BIN!
She also included: A good pet first-aid book (mine is the First Aid Companion for Dogs and Cats by Amy Shojai) & a Home Veterinary Handbook, My Vet and the Nearest Emergency Vet Clinic's Phone Numbers, The poison-control center or hotline, and copies of my rabies vaccination status & copies of my important medical records
The large first aid kit that has the red on it in the background (for "effect") is the Red Cross/Target emergency kit. It is a great starter kit for beans for a good price of $29.99 & a teaser for wht you'll see next week!
Three notes!
First, nothing, nothing, nothing can replace good vet care. If you hurt yourself bad or feel really icky, make sure your beans call the vet. Notice most of this kit is just to get me to the vet safely!
Second, a great list for what should be in your kit (and they list kitties & woofies) can be found on the Humane Society of the United States' website - hsus.org (look up "first aid" in the search box)
Third, the Red Cross - redcross.org has wonderful disaster prep lists. Even if you live where we do and don't get lotsa natural disasters, a chemical spill into the air from a passing train or something can force an evacuation. We can also lose power like our poor Meowers from Missouri did, or get a tornado in the area. Be prepared!

Where's Hendrix? Wacky Wednesday
Daddy threw the towel under my head thinking I'd go crazy, but I just snuggled in and got comfy. He then tried to tease me out with my favorite toy. Eventually it worked. I can't resist that toy!!!
Where am I????
Can't resist blue fuzzy toy..........
Mine!!!
UPDATED PS Don't worry all, the towel is still there. Yup, they love me enough to leave an old, torn up, faded towel right there on the floor.

Tips Tuesday
My second tip, real, live fev-vers are our friends. We can enjoy watching them and listening to them, but lets get our "chicken" from a can. Unless they're Starlings. Starlings are not your friend.
In fact, the vishus deer that ran through our yard Sunday (and almost every morning) flashed "gang signs" to the flock of starlings on my feeders...and the starlings flashed them back! I think they may be plotting against me. After all, those birds can fly up to any window ledge and see exactly where I am in my house and report back to the vishus deer!!!!
My most important "tip" of the day is that all of my friends should feel free to teleport over any time they want to check out the birdies. My mommy & daddy work all day so I get lonely and bored (thank goodness I get all the treats and play time when they get home). I know some of your beans work all day too, so "beam over" whenever you want. This is an open invitation! I'd love to share my toys, window box, couch and nip with you all!!!
PSSSSSSSSS sos no one thinks mommy is putting out a "buffet" for me, I'm an indoor only kitty. The Starlings are safe from me unless they somehow (and i'm working on it) get in the house....then they're mine...
UPDATE SPOILER AHEAD I almost forgot my 24 comments. Wow, Curtis is really dead. The bomb really went off. And for anyone who doesn't remember Jack's brother (introduced last night), he was the bad bomb guy from last season we saw a couple of time. Crazy! This show makes mommy so tense and worked up I get a good play time before we turn in for the night....We love 24! It gets better and better every season and every week!!!!!!!!

A White Themed Midnight Monday (with fev-vers)
Now, Mommy has 8 bird feeders, yes 8 bird feeders and two heated bird baths I can see from my window. She & I can't pick a favorite bird, but we can pick our least favorite. In the early morning, purty songbirds filled the feeders getting all they needed....then, those "d*mn starlings" found us. The chased all our songbirds away and emptied the feeders TWICE!!! Mommy doesn't care about the food part, just the bullying part.
We'll post pictures of them later because mommy took them on her film camera (better zoom feature) and we wanted to show you these now.
Me seeing snow for the first time in a looooooooong time. I'm thinking "what the????"
oooooooooo see the Cardinal flying in from the left side of the photo and the dove taking off from the pole??
Finches on the feeders and in the burning bush.
Me licking my paws clean. Mommy thinks I must've been preparing for a starling feast...

Midnight Monday Introducing Sammy! (just a wee bit early)
She is such a tiny little girl to have those ears! Could there be a little Frootbat in her?
Auntie Annette is my mommy's bestest friend and she kittysits me when mommy and daddy are gone. I'm a little nervous with her, like I am with all strangers, but she is sweet and I love her. She plays with me, pets me, gives me stinky goodness and makes sure I have my medicine too.
Here is sweet Sammy with her holiday collar on! That red and green sets off her panther coat perfectly!
Stay tuned tomorrow when I introduce Auntie Annette's other rescued kitty Izzy, a purty tortie!
Any 24 viewers out there??? How awesome was Sunday night's premire? We are sooooooooooooooooo excited for tonight!

Just because It's Saturday....
My Peculiar Aristocratic Title is: Emperor Jimi Hendrix the Omnipresent of Withering Glance Get your Peculiar Aristocratic Title |
This is the purfect name for when I want more stinky goodness, or when the flashy box comes out to much, or when my crunchies need fluffing, or when mommy wakes me up to early, or when I've gotten my nails trimmed, or my ears cleaned.....well you get the picture. It is the purfect aristo-CAT-ic name for me!
Of course I would never look at my Sugar Pie Brandi like this. She is to sweet and purty....
PS Mine mommy had to have two "ulcerations" in her nose cauterized. That means they burned them shut. Shudder. She has an infection that has already swollen one side of her sinuses shut and the other is inflammed. It isn't anything she did or the doctor did, it is just the way her body is handling things. She has 2 weeks on 2 new medications and if things aren't better, they may haf to do the surgery again. Please cross paws and fingers that doesn't haf to happen. It was just awful!
She didn't want to say anything because she thinks people are sick of hearing about how bad she feels, but wanted everyone to know that is why she hasn't been helping me visit much. We're trying to get to everyone at least once a week, but she is so tired when she gets home from work (she finally had to go back) that she mostly just sleeps....

Tummy Tuesday on the Comforter
Ahhhh I love snuggling on the comforter. It is so warm and soft. Mommy likes this comforter because it is lighter than the one on the big bed so she gets better pictures of me. I love to show off all my house panther handsomness.
I wish my sweet Brandi was here to snuggle with me. I think her silvery fur would look nice on the light background....sigh
PS All my loved ones call me Hendrix now (unless I'm in trouble or at the VET - same thing). All my bloggy friends are included in that group so Hendrix it is! I do kinda like it as my offishul ree-purrter name, it makes me sound sooooo offishul. Mommy is the only one that gets to call me Mr. Kitty McPhearson Squishy Face Head though, and only when she is scratching my chin....

The story of a former feral's name...
A lot of people have asked about my name and whether I have a first or middle name. Well, that is an interesting story.
Mommy found me on the side of the road on a freezing cold November day on her way home from work. I was a feral, totally skin and bones and wanting to trust but having a lot of trouble with it. I was also facinated (and a little unnerved) by sounds from the TV/Stereo speakers. I love to sit on the subwoofer!
Mommy & Daddy always thought of kitties as being slick and cool, but at the same time, crazy and fun. What ties all that together better than rock and roll???
Being big lovers of the "classic rock" era (the Who, Tom Petty, The Rolling Stones, Jefferson Airplane - the Woodstock Jefferson Airplane not the "We built this City" "Starship" one! - etc) and of course the "rock n roll trifecta" of Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin & Jimi Hendrix, this is the first place they looked to when they were picking out a name for me.
Anyway, since I'm a boy, Joplin was out, Daltry didn’t seem wild enough as a name, other bands like the Stones have typical bean names (though "Jagger" was kicked around since I love to run around like crazy), and Morrison, and versions of it seemed to much like Morris the cat.
I am a "cool cat" so "James Marshall Hendrix" it was. It was a mouthful so I went between "Jimi" and "Hendrix" for a day or two, but when they took me to the VET, the Vet Tech called "Mr. Hendrix," and that sounded so good, it stuck.
http://www.inet.hr/~abubalo/pictures/pictures.html
Not only is my purrsonality is as rock and roll as it gets, Mommy says Jimi Hendrix was a rock and roll god...and what do we cats think we are?????
My namesake, as so many musical geniuses of that era did, crossed the Bridge to early (Nov. 27, 1942 – Sept. 18, 1970) and to tragically. He had so much more magic left in those fingers.
I love to run around when mommy and daddy have concert DVDs on (they do this alot when they clean) but for some reason, the Who is for the couch. My daddy captured my typical the Who concert watching pose a few months ago. Before you ask...it is Baba O'Riley that is the fave...can't help but sing along and twitch my tail to the beat...
As for my namesake, a favorite is hard to come by, but Mommy thinks, "the Star Spangled Banner", because the way he played it....it is an awesome song to begin with, but, wow, the way Jimi played it.....untouchable...
On that note...I think my new theme song (to be played when I enter any room should be:
See Me
Feed Me,
Pet Me,
Treatsies.....
See Me,
Feed Me,
Pet Me,
Treatsies.....
Listening to you, I get so hungry
Gazing at you, while you try to sleep
Following you, into the kitchen,
I'm gonna beg right at your feeeeeeeeeeeeeet...."
See Me, Feel Me by the Who

Belated Toosie Tuesday and Early Wordless Wednesday
This is my holiday edition of Tuesday Tootsies! As you can see, I am very clever in removing the soft paws and only have 3 left on my 4 furry toes.
This is how I looked after the Bengals' vs Steeler's game Sunday. No words needed.
